Marking ASX daily ranges before the open
A morning routine we recommend for intensive graduates who trade Australian equities around breakout levels.

Australian equity sessions are short enough that yesterday’s range still matters at the open. Graduates of the intensive often ask how to prepare without staring at every tick.
We suggest a twenty-minute pre-open pass: update horizontal boundaries on your watchlist, note any overnight ADR or US lead that gaps price near a level, and write one sentence on whether you are hunting a fresh break or managing a retest already in play.
If a gap opens beyond your marked ceiling, treat the open as a pierce until a cash-session close confirms. If price opens back inside a level you thought had broken, demote the idea before coffee. The routine is dull by design — dull keeps the checklist from dissolving when the first loud name moves.
